Gabriel Panev

Gabriel Panev is a representative of the modern generation of contemporary Bulgarian artists. He graduated in Painting from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and Methodius”, searching for his own artistic path from early on.

Growing up in a family of artists, he does not fall under the influence of his parents; instead, he seeks and discovers a personal style shaped both by his artistic philosophy and by the newest currents in contemporary European art. After exploring surrealist influences and painting a series inspired by the beauty of the female form, he eventually turns toward the aesthetics of abstraction.

Another direction in his work stems from his profound love of music - he dedicates pop-art portraits to his idols in jazz, funk, and soul. If we are to define the essence of his art, we must note the rich and diverse color palette characteristic of contemporary painting. He also incorporates symbols and signs from Christian and world culture, achieving deeper emotional and philosophical messages.
